LLOYD-WOODS W.

Born in Wales, he came to Western Australia in 1911, and it is his proud assertion that he first saw Gnowangerup with a sum of 3/6 in his pocket, but also plenty of grit to tackle whatever task confronted him.
This took the form of dam sinking, to be followed later by share farming with Mr. N. P. Davis.
Then followed five years of labour on the Glengarry estate, at that period the property of Mr. Edgar Davis.
Fifteen years ago Mr. Woods took up his present holding on Pallinup estate, which comprises 1,000 acres devoted to mixed farming.
“MR. W. LLOYD-WOODS, of Pallinup Estate, near Gnowangerup, was a well-known settler, whose skill as a veterinarian proved to be a great asset to the district.

He was a member of the Gnowangerup Road Board, and took a keen has an interest in-matters affecting the welfare of the district.
He filled the office of deputy-chairman, after two years' representation of the West Ward at the civic table.
Mr. Woods was also a keen follower of sport.”

Gnowangerup Star 1954 Reported: “Rifle Shooting Gnowangerup Club"
All members are reminded of the trophy shoot next Sunday over three lanes for the W. Lloyd-Woods Cup.
Starting time is 9 a.m. sharp for an early finish”.

Owen Lloyd-Woods attended Roundwood School near Gnowangerup.

He served in New Guinea during WWII.
